Abstract

Increasing demand for sustainable transportation has led industry stakeholders and researchers to investigate EVs as a feasible alternative to traditional automobiles. Governments worldwide have devised tax incentives, subsidies, and harsher pollution laws to boost EV adoption. Recent advances in lithium-ion battery technology and charging infrastructure have made EVs more efficient and affordable, making them more appealing to customers. Academic papers on EV adoption, industry trends, consumer behaviour, and technology advancements have increased due to these changes. Despite growing research, EV adoption literature is still fragmented, encompassing charging infrastructure, government policy, battery performance, and customer preferences. Bibliometric study maps this research arena, revealing patterns, important authors, and theme evolutions. Scholars can discover knowledge gaps and recommend future study by analysing academic publications, citation networks, and research clusters. A rapid-changing area like EV adoption requires such an analysis since technical advances and legislative changes change market dynamics. Electric transportation is becoming increasingly important, thus understanding its research trajectory and core issues is crucial. By quantifying scientific literature, bibliometric analysis lets researchers evaluate publication patterns, citation impact, and collaboration networks. Our investigation identified key co-citation networks across journals and authors, prominent research institutions globally, and five critical themes and theoretical foundations regarding electric vehicle purchasing decisions. In light of the backdrop and the urgent necessity to enhance future mobility due to climate change, the promotion, development, and dissemination of knowledge in this domain is imperative
